Boat Restrictions

Boats and motors used on private lakes shall comply with the following rules:

The following boats/motors have been approved for use. Any boats/motors other than those listed below must be approved prior to launching.  

1.  Pre-Approved boats: Overall length of boat should be no more than 15ft 2in. Height of railing no more than 24 inches. (meeting these size requirements does not guarantee approval)

   1. Paddle King Lo-Pro Cruiser (This boat has low profile pontoons and sits low on the water which provides the best option for an enclosed seating style boat)

   2. Tiger Shark (Open seating area)

   3. Mitey-Toon (Open seating area)

2. Pre-Approved motors: Non-Fuel battery powered motors only, with less than 4hp equivalence.

   1. e-propulsion spirit 1.0

   2. Mercury Avator 7.5e

   3. 55 pound Minn Kota or similar brand

3. Non-approved boats are typically those with larger pontoons and an enclosed seating area. These types of boats sit high on the water and with the enclosed seating area does not allow the operator enough line of sight to see the surface of the water.  This creates a safety risk for swimmers. 

4. Current Island Lake homeowners as of 7/14/2024, All currently owned/on order/existing boats and motors are "grandfathered".  Please email exec. member to have your boat/motor deemed "grandfathered" if your boat/motor does not meet the requirements listed above. (proof of date of purchase required)
